Christiandatter Mittens Pattern

Regular price $6.00 Sale

These quick-knit mittens in the Norwegian Selbu tradition produce a cozy mitten filled with symbolism for things the world could use a little more of right now: Hope, love, kindness, and courage. Includes heart-shaped cinnamon roll recipe.

Christiandatter Mittens are a traditional Norwegian pattern knit in the round with super-soft Blue Faced Leicester with a braid at the cuff and a year knit along the bottom (the year may represent the year the mittens were made, a birth year, anniversary or any other special occasion). The thumb is constructed with a gusset and the tassel is optional.

2 skeins of Farm Girl Products BFL (220 yards each) will make 2 pairs of mittens.

Tvinnarand SOS: Tvinnarand is basically a Latvian braid with a twisted purl stitch. Watch my Tvinnarand video tutorial on Scandiwork.com.

Sizes
The size of the mitten depends on the gauge. For a women’s small the gauge is 29 stitches over 4 inches. For a medium-large the gauge is 27 stitches over 4 inches.
